Labonte lands ride for 2009

According to a preliminary report on NASCAR.com, 2000 Cup Series Champion Bobby Labonte will drive the #96 Ford for Hall of Fame Racing in 2009. Hall of Fame announced today that they have aligned themselves with Yates Racing, one of the top Ford teams in NASCAR. The #96 car will continue to be owned by Hall of Fame Racing, but will operate out of the Yates facility and be maintained by the Yates team. There is no word yet as to who will sponsor the team. Texas Instruments DLP has sponsored the #96 since the race team was started by former NFL Hall of Fame quarterbacks Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman in 2006.
