"Free" government health care.

So, you want "free" government health care, huh? Well, let's see what you're asking for. You want to be able to get medical care you can't afford and want the "government" to pay for it. How does the government get its money to pay for your health care? Through taxes of course. Wake up! Use your brain, assuming you have one and know how to use it, and realize that the government will pay for YOUR health care by raising YOUR taxes and mine, and everybody else's. "Free" health care isn't free, someone has to pay for it. The dirty little secret, the elephant in the room if you will, is while you may not have to pay for medical at the doctor's office at the time of treatment, you WILL be paying for it in higher taxes. Doesn't sound "free" to me.

So what we have here is the fact that you want your neighbors, your co-workers, and even members of your own family to pay for YOUR health care so you supposedly won't have to. The real question here is, whose responsibility is it to pay for YOUR health care? Is it your neighbor's? Is it your boss'? Is it you co-workers'? Your mom, dad, sister, brother, etc.? Is it the government's? Or could it just possibly be YOUR responsibility??

The almost funny thing is, and it would be funny if it wasn't so pathetically sad, your entitlement mentatlity has you so blinded to the obvious that you don't even realize that even if you did get this "free" government health care handed to you on a silver platter, you would still be paying for it through higher taxes, and so would all of the rest of us.

We, and this includes YOU, would be paying higher prices for lesser quality service. Everyone holds Canada's government health care program up as the model. Why is it then that Canadians come to America in droves to get care they can't get in Canada? Waiting as much as six months for EMERGENCY surgery doesn't sound like something we should aspire to. Other dimwits like Michael Moore hold Cuba's health care program up as the shining example. Oh, really?? Then why did Cuban President Fidel Castro have doctors from Spain flown into Cuba to treat him during a recent illness instead of relying on his shining example? The answer is obvious. He cares so little about his people that he will saddle them with long lines and inferior care while he gets the cream of the crop.

So you tell me, is this really where we want America to go? Well, under Hillary care, or Obama, or John Edwards plans that is exactly where we would end up. We would be having much more of our hard earned money confiscated from our pay, and getting much less quality of care in return. Not a very fair trade-off if you ask me. Pay more, get less. That's classic liberalism for you!

So, in review, you want the government to take your hard earned money along with mine and everyone else's to pay for health care that you supposedly can't afford to pay for but you actually are paying for it anyway, along with all the rest of us. And this fair how? It's not MY responsibility to pay for health care for YOU and YOUR family, nor is it the government's or anyone else's. It's yours. So, be a grown up, and own up to that fact and stop demanding that everyone else pay your way in life, and America will be a much better country!

You won't see these pictures in the mainstream media.

What follows is a group of pictures from Iraq that I guarantee you will not EVER see on CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC, or any other broadcast or print media outlets. The reason is because they don't want us to know the truth. They want to paint the picture that our troops are evil murderers who are just over there to rape an pillage the Iraqi people. They don't want us to know that we are actually making a difference over there. Good news from Iraq is actually bad news for them and for the Democrat so-called leaders in Washington. It doesn't fit their agenda of defeat. So, enjoy the true images from the front lines of battle. Do bad things happen? Of course they do, it's a war, and wars are never pretty. But good things happen as well, and these are just some of them.

Oh the horror!! U.S. Troops making Iraqi kids smile! How dare they!

This kid really looks like he's sorry we're over there!

This little Iraqi girl was shot in the head by insurgents. Her family was killed by the same insurgents. This U.S. soldier found her, and got her the medical attention she needed. She would often cry at night in the hospital. This soldier was the ONLY person who could calm and quiet her down. He would often sleep in a chair in the hospital cradling her while they both slept. I'll have none of the poisonous, hateful rhetoric that says we're only over there to kill Iraqi children! That garbage comes from deranged people with little or no intelligence. If it wasn't for our presence over there, this little girl would be dead.

I guess this is what some on the left would call torture!

Nah, our troops don't care at all about Iraqi children! (Tongue planted firmly in cheek)

The broadcast media as well as newspapers like the New York Slimes, the Washington Compost, The Atlanta Urinal and Constipation, and our very own Dallas Mourning Snooze and Fort Worth Startlegram would spin this picture something like this; "U.S. soldier forces Iraqi girl to do manual labor." In reality, she just wanted to help and wanted to be given the time of day!

I guess these smiles are all fake too.

Another example of torture?? then why are all of the other Iraqi kids waiting in line for their turn??

This picture needs no explanation!

Wake up America!! Stop letting the Democrat so-called leadership in Washington and their willing accomplices in the media force feed you a bunch of lies! Our troops being in Iraq is the Iraqi people's best hope for survival. Our being over there and fighting terrorist insurgents in Iraq ensures our national security and keeps us from having to fight them over here. if we pull out, surrender, and accept the defeat that Democrats in Congress and those running for President are so invested in, we might as well hand our country over to terrorists and brace for more 9/11 style attacks!

So, if you want to see America destroyed, vote Democrat!

Driving in Dallas, TX

I decided to post this for anyone who might be coming to Dallas to visit and for the everyday road warriors like myself who understand the truth and humor contained in this piece. Enjoy!!! Jim

First you must learn to pronounce the city name. It is DAL-LUS, or DAA-LIS depending on if you live inside or outside LBJ Freeway.

Next, if your Mapsco is more than a few weeks old, throw it out and buy a new one. If in Denton County and your Mapsco is one-day-old, then it is already obsolete. Forget the traffic rules you learned elsewhere. (Frisco has screwed everything up.)

Dallas has its own version of traffic rules ... "Hold on and pray." There is no such thing as a dangerous high-speed chase in Dallas. We all drive like that.

All directions start with, "Get on Beltline," which has no beginning and no end. (It REALLY DOESN'T!!!)

The morning rush hour is from 6 to 10. The evening rush hour is from 3 to 7. Friday's rush hour starts Thursday morning.

If you actually stop at a yellow light, you will be rear-ended, cussed out and possibly shot. When you are the first one on the starting line, count to five when the light turns green before going to avoid crashing with all the drivers running the red light in cross-traffic.

Construction on Central Expressway is a way of life and a permanent form of entertainment. We had so much fun with that we added George Bush Freeway and the High Five to the mix.

All unexplained sights are explained by the phrase, "Oh, we're in
Fort Worth!"

If someone actually has his or her turn signal on, it is probably a factory defect. Car horns are actually "Road Rage" indicators - and remember, it's legal to be armed in
Texas.

All old ladies with blue hair in a Mercedes have the right of way. Period. And remember, it's legal to be armed in
Texas.

Inwood Road, Plano Road, NW Highway, East Grand, Garland Road, Marsh Lane, Josey Lane, 15th Street, Preston Road all mysteriously change names as you cross intersections (these are only a FEW examples). The perfect example is what is MOSTLY known as
Plano Road. On the south end, it is known as Lake Highlands Drive, cross Northwest Highway and it becomes Plano Road, go about 8 miles and it is briefly Greenville Ave, Ave K, and Highway 5. It ends in Sherman.

The North Dallas Tollway is our daily version of NASCAR. The minimum acceptable speed on the Dallas North Toll Road is 85 mph. Anything less is considered downright sissy. It ends in McKinney, but is headed for Sherman
.

If asking directions in
Irving or SE Dallas , you must have knowledge of Spanish. If in central Richardson or on Harry Hines, Mandarin Chinese will be your best bet. If you stop to ask directions on Gaston or Live Oak, you better be armed ... and remember, it's legal to be armed in Texas.

The wrought iron on windows near Oak Cliff and
Fair Park is not ornamental!!

A trip across town east to west will take a minimum of four hours, although many north/south freeways have unposted minimum speeds of 75.

It is possible to be driving WEST in the NORTH-bound lane of
EAST NORTHWEST Highway. Don't let this confuse you.

LBJ is called "The Death Trap" for two reasons: "death" and "trap."

If it's 100 degrees, Thanksgiving must be next weekend. If it's 10 degrees and sleeting/snowing, the Fort Worth Stock Show is going on. If it has rained 6 inches in the last hour, the Byron Nelson Golf Classic is in the second round (if it's Spring) - and it is the Texas State Fair if it's Fall.

If you go to the Fair, pay the $8.00 to park
INSIDE Fair Park. Parking elsewhere could cost up to $2500 for damages, towing fees, parking tickets, and possibly a gunshot wound. If some guy with a flag tries to get you to park in his yard, run over him.

Any amusement parks, stadiums, arenas, racetracks, airports, etc., are conveniently located as far away from EVERYTHING as possible so as to allow for ample parking on grassy areas.

Final Warning: Don't Mess With Texas Drivers ... remember, it's legal to be armed in
Texas

Money well wasted

Well, it didn't take long, just a few short hours, for liberal politicians and the dominant media culture to politicize a tragedy. The dust had hardly settled in Minnesota when a Minnesota state representative said "we would have money to fix our bridges if we weren't in Iraq." Figures.

The truth of the matter is, what's unnecessarily tying up our resources is not the war in Iraq, but rather all of the money being spent on giving entitlements to people who aren't entitled to squat.

The Constitution clearly spells out that the federal government's responsibility is to pay for our nation's defense and infrastructure, not entitlements. The war in Iraq clearly falls under the national defense category.

If you want to blame government spending policy on our lack of funds for infrastructure, fine, then put the blame where blame is due. Giving Medicare, Medicaid, driver's licenses, education, and other tax payer funded government benefits to illegal immigrants is the problem, not war funding.

If we want to redirect government funds away from programs that don't deserve them or don't have a Constitutional mandate, then we need to quit throwing piles of money at criminal immigrants and quit rewarding laziness by paying citizens who have no other ambition than living off of government in perpetuity, and put that money towards our infrastructure. That would be money well spent, not money well wasted.

Scandals in sports

It seems that every time I turn on the TV or the radio there is a story about a sports figure embroiled in some sort of scandal. There's the NBA's gambling referree, the NFL's dog-fighting QB, and now enters MLB's steroid assisted home run king.

Let's not forget pro-wrestler Chris Benoit who killed his wife & son in a steroid induced rage before killing himself.

So that begs the question, is there a sport that is not hip deep in scandal at the moment? I don't hear anything about any NHL players going Michael Vick on us. No PGA guys juicing up. No tennis players gambling on their matches.

That creates a problem for me, because I'm just not that into the NHL. I enjoy watching paint dry more than watching golf or tennis. So what's left? NASCAR of course. No controversy there, other than Robby Gordon's antics on the track a week ago. There's no animal cruelty going on, no betting on races, and no steroids.

Oh there's gambling in NASCAR, and plenty of it. Teams gamble week in and week out on whether to take 2 or 4 tires, or whether to stay out and gain track position when the other drivers pit. Sometimes the gambles pay off, and sometimes they don't.

Lots of action packed excitement with no unsavory characters and no doping or gambling controversies. It's no wonder NASCAR is America's fastest growing sport.

Yet another great email

This Pastor has guts!! Thought you might enjoy this, Its very interesting.

This is a Prayer given in Kansas at the opening session of their Senate. It seems Prayer still upsets some people. When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, Everyone was expecting the usual generalities, But this is what they heard:

'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and
to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected
to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from Every sin and set us free. Amen!'

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during
the prayer in protest. In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church,
where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with
only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is now
receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India,
Africa and Korea

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, 'The
Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than
any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help! , may this prayer
sweep over our nation and whole heartedly become our desire so that we
again can be called 'one nation Under God.' If possible, please pass
this prayer on to your friends. 'If you don't Stand for something, you
will fall for everything.'

We got this in our email recently - too funny not to share!

FINALLY, SOMEONE HAS CLEARED THIS UP For me....

For centuries, Hindu women have worn a dot on their foreheads. Most of us have naively thought this was connected with marriage or religion, but the Indian Embassy in
Washington , D.C.has recently revealed the true story.

When a Hindu woman gets married, she brings a dowry into the union. On her wedding night, the husband scratches off the dot to see whether he has won a convenience store, a gas station, a donut shop or a motel in the
United States . If nothing is there, he must take a job in India answering telephones giving technical advice.
