An education for Liberals about guns

Yes it is true that some purely evil people own guns and misuse them as was the case in Tucson yesterday morning. But just because some whacked out evil people happen to own and misuse guns, DOES NOT mean that EVERYONE who owns a gun is evil. It also DOES NOT mean that guns themselves are evil.

To begin with, a gun is an inanimate object, totally devoid of the things necessary to be inherently good or evil; a mind and soul. Evil is often a choice and can only be made human beings not things or inanimate objects. A gun, or any other inanimate object, can be used for good or evil purposes by good or evil people. Yesterday's Tucson shooting was an example of an evil person using his inanimate object for an evil purpose.

Contrary to popular belief, a gun ban would not have prevented yesterday's carnage. For one thing, only good, moral, law abiding people would obey the law. Drugs are banned and illegal, but that doesn't people from buying, selling, and using them on a daily basis. It stops those of us who respect the law and our bodies enough not to do it. But those who are hell bent on law breaking find ways to do it. It would be no different with guns.

Let's say you could wave a magic wand and every gun on the planet disappeared immediately. All killing and murder would cease then too, right? Not hardly. People bent on killing someone will find way to do it and will find another weapon of choice. A kitchen knife perhaps. Some type of hand tool maybe. A baseball bat possibly. So what then? Are we then going to ban kitchen knifes, hand tools, and baseball bats? See where this slippery slope can lead? Lets say all those items and others were banned as well. The creative among us will figure out how to kill someone with a ball point pen. Are we going to ban those too then? Then we're left with rocks and our bare hands. It will be hard to ban rocks as they are a natural formation and cutting off people's hands just in case isn't a viable option either.

See how ridiculous this whole gun grabbing argument and where it could lead to is? The murder problem in America is a people problem, not a gun problem. And that really isn't open for debate or discussion even though some mindless, agenda driven folks try to debate it. As long as there are evil people walking the face of the earth there will be killings and assaults, guns or not.

And just another quick note. The evil people who use guns to hurt or kill people are not the Ted Nugents of the world or other 2nd Amendment supporting, freedom loving patriots. They are not Tea Party members or talk radio hosts. They are evil people with very dark souls and troubled minds. Please put the blame where the blame is due so as to not make yourself look at best like an idiot or at worst like one of the people I just described.
