The tax myth

It really shouldn't, but it never ceases to not only surprise me but also amaze me how many allegedly smart people actually whole-heartedly believe that raising taxes will somehow help spark our slumping economy. What amazes me even more is the seemingly ever increasing number of older people who believe this tax myth. I thought wisdom was supposed to increase with age?

You don't have to be a rocket scientist or even smarter than a fifth grader to figure this out. The more of our hard-earned money that government confiscates from us in the form of taxes, the less we have to put back into the economy by spending it on not just luxuries, but the bare necessities of life. Conversely, the more of our hard-earned money we are allowed to keep through decreased taxes, the more we have to spend on what we want and need. Its the increased spending that stimulates our economy.

Some say we should tax the rich more than anyone else. Penalizing and punishing people for their hard work or good fortune is about as un-American as you can get. Whatever happened to the land of opportunity? Now it seems that those who have made the most the opportunities deserve to be punished in the minds of some lame brains. Since when is it fair to take money away from people who have worked hard for it or from those who are the beneficiaries of the hard labor of a family member, and give it to someone who hasn't lifted a finger to earn it? Since when is it right or fair to take money away from those who have earned it and truly deserve it and give it to those who refuse to work, or to those who have knowingly, willfully, and flagrantly violated our laws to come here?

It is not right. It is not fair. It is not American, It never has been and it never will be. It must not be allowed to continue. The future of our country is at stake.
