Greece is out, Italy and Spain hold the key to the EU. Market Notes July 13 All eyes were once again on Fed Chairman Bernanke, as he suffered through a bi-annual Congressional grilling. After hearing Mr. Bernanke say that further action by the Federal Reserve "may be required", investors appear to be betting that QE3 is very likely, after all (as we have been saying for months). There was an interesting exchange between Rep. Ron Paul and the Chairman, regarding gold. We have clip of that, along with more analysis here. Silver moved up nicely, notching up 6% gains by midday. At last check silver was trading at $38.15 per ounce in New York. Gold advanced to $1,582, another all-time high, on the Fed chairman's dovish remarks. Stocks were up broadly on optimism that another round of Fed stimulus might lift all asset classes. With the EU debt crisis heating up, however, significant risks remain.
