Wisconsin teachers: SHUT UP & TEACH!!

I have had it with all these sniveling, whining teachers protesting in Wisconsin. Two vital pieces of information came out today. First, even after the benefit contribution increase that Governor Walker has proposed, Wisconsin teachers will still have the second lowest benefit contribution in the country. Second, when you combine benefits with pay, Wisconsin teachers make $89,000 a year. That is 2 and a half times what teachers make here in Texas and also 2 and a half times your average private sector job wage. And those of us in the private sector who have insurance through our employers pay anywhere from 20 to 50% for our portion of the premium. The same goes for teachers out here too.

Welcome to the real world Wisconsin public employees. Welcome to a world where you actually have to pay your own way. Welcome to the world that 90% of Americans live in and deal with on daily basis. Even after these "draconian" measures are taken, you will still be living high on the hog and better than most everyone else.  You have been living off of other people's money and now that money has run out so now you have to make sacrifices just like everyone else. Especially those whose hard earned money is confiscated to pay for your outrageous salaries and benefits.

So teachers, if you don't want to shut up, go back to the classroom and teach, Dallas ISD is about to layoff about 1000 or so teachers who would gladly come to Wisconsin and take your jobs for half your salary and benefits. If I were you, I would count my blessing and thank God I still HAVE A JOB, instead of whining and nitpicking over the governor doing what is best for the future of the state and what he was elected to do. Put your focus, energy, and attention back on the kids where it belongs instead of on your own selfish motivation or the desires of the union thugs.
