......Jeremy Mayfield. Mayfield was suspended indefinitely from NASCAR competition Saturday Evening prior to the Southern 500 in Darlington, SC, for "violating NASCAR's substance abuse ploicy" according to Jim Hunter, VP of Corporate Communications for the sport. Two crew members, one from NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, and one from NASCAR Nationwide Series were also suspended for violating the same policy. Hunter did not divulge exactly what substance the men allegedly abused or how bad the abuse was but said it was "more than merely alcohol". Hunter said the action was taken in the interest of protecting the safety and integrity of the sport.
I say, GOOD CALL!! Get these miscrients off the track before they kill somebody. Nice job Jeremy. Way to throw what little you had left of your less than illustrious career.
