Market Notes June 24

A few quick notes. Stocks continue to pull back. No surprise there, with QE2 coming to an end. As I said back in April, this is not a time I'd want to be overweight stocks. Foreign bond funds are looking comparatively attractive. More on that in headline story above (Inflation Protection For...)

Metals fell sharply. Silver was down 3%, gold by 1.4%. We say it often, but it's a very important point -- The long-term bull case for metals remains rock solid. Short-term, it'll be bumpy. To avoid buying at highs, I like to spread purchases out over time.

Next week should prove interesting. The U.S. debt debate is heating up. We'll be watching for developments in the Greek situation, as well. Ignore headlines proclaiming that all is well with the latest in a string of ultimately doomed bailout "agreements", which only kick the can down the road a bit.

Enjoy the weekend, everyone.
