A Crisis of Leadership

I’m sure you remember the old cartoon where the UFO lands and the cute little alien guy waddles out and in that robot type voice says “take me to your leader”.  If that were to actually happen today here in America in 2010, exactly who would we take the little guy to? Certainly no one in DC. That bunch of bumbling buffoons couldn’t lead a horse to water.

Remember the hit movie Air Force One with Harrison Ford? The president’s plane was about to be shot down by a missile when a fighter pilot inserted his plane between the missile and Air Force One and became the casualty instead of the president. Does anyone have that degree of love and respect for the clown who currently holds our nation’s highest office? I really, seriously wonder.

When we have a clueless misleader like Hussein Obama whose primary concern during a crisis like the gulf oil spill is trying to find out whose posterior to kick like a petulant schoolyard bully, we are in a sad state of affairs as a nation.

When our supposed president would rather attend a concert given by a washed up British musician who really never was that great to begin with, or would rather be at some country club somewhere swatting his balls than actually taking care of business, we are in serious trouble.

When our moronic vice president calls a concerned citizen a “smartass” for merely expressing his heartfelt concern over high taxes, and one of our president’s top advisors tell us we should “never let a good crisis go to waste”, our country is doomed.

Yes, we are facing some serious crises here in America. The economic crisis created by the government’s tax & spend policies and by it’s take over of the healthcare industry, the automobile industry, and the banking industry just to name a few. The crisis in the gulf with the runaway oil spill. The crisis of more and more people losing their jobs and their homes. The crisis of more and more of our freedoms being taken away from us each and every day.  The crisis of unfettered illegal immigration. I could go on, but you get the idea.

Even with all of this crisis and turmoil though, our biggest, most pressing crisis, the one that will do us in as a nation if we don’t rise up and change things, is our crisis of leadership. Our federal government is being run by a group of people who could not lead each other or even themselves out of an open field with a GPS device. Our so-called president’s only experience is that of a community agitator, and his top and most trusted advisor is an arm-twisting political thug. Not exactly leadership material in my book.

There is some good news though amidst all this doom and gloom. We the people can do something about the crisis of leadership. We can start this November by voting out all of the members of Congress who are not demonstrating one ounce of proper leadership and replace them with the ones who will. We can continue the trend in 2012 by kicking Obama’s posterior to the curb and voting in someone with the capacity and wherewithal to actually lead us in the right direction.

Once we the people fix our crisis of leadership, we will begin to see our leaders get a handle on the other crises that face our great nation. So, in the words of Rom Immanuel himself, let’s not let this crisis of leadership go to waste. Let’s rise up as concerned, patriotic, freedom loving Americans and take this bull by the horns and take back control of our government. It is OUR government remember, not theirs.  Let’s let this crisis of leadership spur us on to actually elect people who know how to lead a nation. Its up to us, we the people, you and I.
