Lethal combo of drugs caused Daniel Smith's death

The pathologist who performed a private autopsy on Anna Nicole Smith's son Daniel announced Wednesday that the 20-year-old died from a lethal mix of methadone and two antidepressants - Zoloft and Lexapro. "The fact that we have these drugs and the levels of the drugs overwhelmingly and most logically point to this being a tragic, accidental, drug-related death," said the pathologist. He went on to say that Smith died from a "classical" combination of the drugs, which had a "cumulative effect on the central nervous system." Zoloft and Lexapro are regularly prescribed for anxiety and panic disorders, which make sense since the former Playmate's son had reportedly been suffering from depression. The presence of methadone is less easily explained. "It is used for people who have been on heroin or morphine," according to the pathologist. "I have made those inquiries. I can only say to you no one has suggested anything having to do with drug addiction in this boy."
