Britney's ex stands behind her

Britney Spears's most recent ex-boyfriend Isaac Cohen spoke to People mag this weekend about the popstar's recent troubles, saying, "I was definitely surprised that she went into rehab. I didn't feel it had come to that, but you know, if that's what it takes and if that's what she needs." Cohen said he hasn't spoken to his former girlfriend since he spilled a few intimate details about their relationship to a British newspaper about a month ago, but says he thinks she's made the right decision. "It's the best thing for her, her children - for everyone around her, actually. She's a strong girl and I really feel that she'll be okay."

Is Britney bulemic?

Britney Spears has reportedly confessed to her rehab doctors that she has been bulemic since the age of 16. Spears allegedly told staff at Promises that she "pigs out" on bad food and makes herself sick in the hopes of losing weight. "Doctors are alarmed at the physical state she's in," said an alleged senior source at the rehab facility. "They confronted her about her desperately unhealthy lifestyle and the truth came pouring out." Spears managed to stop binging and purging while pregnant with sons Sean and Jayden but began again once she was ready to lose any extra weight she'd gained during pregnancy. "When she came here she was shaking and baking," said the insider. "Her whole body was wracked by spasms and she was hot one minute, then freezing the next." The combination of drugs, alcohol and an eating disorder had turned the popstar into a "human wreck," said the source. "Her first week in detox was real hell. She was in a total mess but slowly she's pulling through." Spears's condition has been improving since she was forced to admit her bulemia to doctors when they were trying to determine why treatment wasn't working. "For the first few days, she'd take her tablets, then go off and eat breakfast or lunch. She was throwing the whole lot up, so naturally her medications weren't working. Now the medical experts know why, her progress should pick up a little speed," said the source.

Britney gets another visit from her boys

Sorry...another KFed story. Federline paid another visit to estranged wife Britney Spears in rehab yesterday morning, and brought along sons Sean Preston and Jayden James to see their mom. "It seems like Britney is struggling being away from Sean P. and Jayden because Kevin let her spend four hours with the kids," says a source. Federline arrived at Promises in Malibu at six a.m. yesterday morning and returned home around 10:30. Spears was reportedly allowed to spend an hour away from the rehab facility at her Malibu home on Tuesday night while her bodyguards fended off paparazzi.

KFed wants $25,000 for his birthday

Kevin Federline seems to be hoping to keep the ball rolling in terms of the positive press he's been receiving lately. After estranged wife Britney Spears began having a very public breakdown, Federline said he was hoping to stay out of the limelight. However, insiders say the would-be rapper has been shopping around the weekly tabloids in the hopes that one of them will fork over $25,000 for "exclusive" rights to cover his upcoming birthday party. The "intimate cocktail and dinner party with celebrity friends" will be hosted by the Eleven club in West Hollywood on March 21. "The celebrity magazine will get its logo on the red carpet and exclusive coverage inside the club," said a source. "But who cares? Everyone will have access to the red carpet. And there aren't even any big celebs confirmed for inside the party." A rep for KFed confirmed the party info, but had no further comment.

JT and Timbaland to help Britney?

Uber-producer Timbaland wants to help Britney Spears get her career back. "I feel her pain, it really bothers me," said Timbaland, who produced hit albums this year for Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado. "I'm the type of person who tries to save the world. I just want to take her away, go overseas, and work [things] out... I asked Justin, 'How would you feel about me working with Britney?' I had to ask him that. I said, 'Would you do it with me?'" JT, who dated Spears at the height of her career, agreed, according to Timbaland. A rep for the SexyBack singer referred all inquiries today to Timbaland's spokesperson, who has not yet commented.

KFed takes the kids to Vegas

Kevin Federline managed to maintain his role of primary caregiver to sons Sean Preston and Jayden James this weekend despite a long-scheduled public appearance in Vegas. Federline arrived at the Mirage Hotel & Casino on Saturday with Sean and Jayden as well as a nanny, his mother, brother and two bodyguards. "Kevin was really low key," said a source. "You could definitely tell he was on his best behavior. He was having a good time, but wasn't the wild, crazy Kevin who used to come to Vegas." The soon-to-be-single father was late for a family dinner a Japonais restaurant, said the source, "because he wanted to tuck his kids into bed." The insider admits that Britney Spears's recent troubles have forced KFed to mature. "He wakes up with a purpose each morning and has enjoyed his family being around him," says the source.

More retail therapy for Britney

Britney Spears may have been working on some issues in rehab, but she's also been indulging in a bit of retail therapy on the side. Sources say the popstar has charged $3,000 online for hats, Daisy Duke shorts, sunglasses and dresses. Spears also emailed her cousin Ali a list of stuff she wants from shopintuition.com. Whatever works, Brit!

Simon weighs in on Britney's trip to rehab

Idol judge Simon Cowell has pointed his finely-tuned criticism at Britney Spears and Robbie Williams, slamming them for checking into rehab when there are millions of people suffering real hardship in the world. Cowell recently visited an impoverished country and, after bearing witness to the horrific living conditions there, says Spears and Williams have no idea what serious problems are. "This whole thing is a total indulgence. Britney and Robbie need to get a grip," Cowell says. "I don't know what's going on in Britney's head but my attitude is I couldn't care less. She should go back and live with her mum for six months... I went to a deprived part of the world recently... It really opened my eyes. You can feel sorry for yourself over the smallest things, but then you look at the world and you think, 'I've got nothing to complain about.' So when I hear about the Robbies and the Britneys going into rehab, I think, 'I'll tell you what rehab is. Go to where I just went, where people are really suffering and then you'll see just how good your life is.' I mean Britney is not working in a coal mine, is she? You are whisked to the studio in a very large limo, you are flown around in private jets, everyone will agree with you and physically making an album is a doddle."

Brooke reaches out to Britney

Brooke Shields sends well wishes to Britney Spears in an interview with Access Hollywood to air on Monday. "I hope she's fine," Shields says of the popstar, who doctors say may be suffering from postpartum depression - a battle Shields faced after the birth of her first child. "I believe she's going to be fine, and she just needs the support and her kids. She's their only mom, and she'll earn that back in her own mind." Spears is rumored to be reading Shields's book about her own postpartum journey, Down Came the Rain. "If [Britney] is reading my book, I hope it's helping her. If it's not, and she wants to talk to someone, I'm available." The Blue Lagoon actress says if postpartum depression in fact is the cause of Spears's troubles, "then it really needs to be reckoned with, and it's very common, and she'll get through it."

Britney takes a break from rehab

A smiling Britney Spears was seen heading to an AA meeting in Santa Monica last night. With her newly-shorn head covered by a wig and cap, the popstar made her way to the meeting with an assistant, and reportedly returned to Promises in Malibu when it was over.

Pre-rehab Britney in a borrowed bikini

New details have emerged about Britney Spears's pre-rehab afternoon at the Mondrian Hotel. Us mag is reporting that the popstar arrived at the hotel early Saturday morning, just hours after shaving her head. Spears allegedly had no credit cards or cash and was denied a room - so she stripped to bra and panties and set herself up by the pool. "It was sad," a source told the mag. "It looked like she really needed a friend." Close to noon, Spears (in a wig and hat) struck up a conversation with a girl in the pool bathroom, who offered the loan of a bikini. After changing in the girl's room, Spears reportedly "grabbed four or five bottles" out of the minibar "and just started mixing everything and drinking them," according to the insider.

Remember the old Britney?

A new pic has been posted on Britney Spears's official website - one that might remind fans of a younger, more carefree, less-troubled popstar. The site is still being revamped - as is normal for a star to do when a new album is in the works - but there is no mention of Spears's recent troubles.

Britney hopes for privacy in rehab

Britney Spears has reportedly booked an entire wing Promises in Malibu in the hopes of recovering with a little privacy. "She wants all the rooms on her wing," a source told a British paper. "It will cost hundreds of thousands." Who can blame her? Whatever works. Sources tell TMZ that doctors at the rehab think Spears may be suffering from post-partum depression or bipolar disorder, and that alcohol and/or drugs have been the popstar's way of coping with her problems.

Britney "doing great" in rehab

Fellow Promises patient Daniel Baldwin describes Britney Spears as "a little fearful" after meeting the popstar in Malibu. "I told her if she needed anything or if she wanted me to bring anything to her where she's at, I'd be happy to come see her," Baldwin said at an Oscar party this weekend. "She's doing great, she looks great. She seemed like she was a little fearful. I mean, she's a young girl - I have kids older than her. I think that she knows that she needs some help, and God bless her. All we can do is pray. That is what I want people to do. Pray for her... One thing I mentioned to her is if you took a look at how much effort you put into going out - at least for me - going out and using and doing the things we do, compared to how much effort you need to do to stay sober, it's infinitesimal on a comparison basis." Boy I bet she's glad she's getting advice from this guy...

Britney's ex: "She definitely had a problem with drugs"

Sean Preston and Jayden James Federline made a trip to visit their mom in rehab last night with their dad Kevin. "The kids are his number one priority and they always have been," a source says. "He's so stressed out right now. He only wants the best for Britney and the kids." Yesterday's visit to Promises was Federline's second since estranged wife Britney checked herself in for the second time on Thursday night. In other Spears news, her first husband Jason Alexander is milking some press out of his brief marriage to the popstar by claiming the pair went on drug binges together. "We used ecstacy at night to party and cocaine during the day to stay awake. Then we would take downers like Valium to come down and rest. Britney stayed up three days straight over New Year. I couldn't keep up... She definitely had a problem with drugs when we were together - and that was three years ago... It freaked me out when I saw she had shaved off her hair - that was clearly a cry for help. The pictures have become increasingly disturbing. I have never said anything about Britney and drugs before but I am very, very concerned about her. I am really worried that she will wind up like Anna Nicole Smith and be found dead."

KFed visits Britney in rehab

Kevin Federline has shown his support for estranged wife Britney Spears by visiting her in rehab. "Britney scared everyone pretty bad," says a source close to KFed. "Kevin just wants her to be okay. He loves her, so however she can get better is just what we'll have to accept. [They] will make it work with the kids - it's all still for them." And as to reports that Spears is on "suicide watch," her manager Larry Rudolph told Extra today, "The story is absolutely untrue. She is in rehab, and it is very disappointing that various media outlets are running these false stories about her, as Britney tries to get better."

Britney "a sick little girl," says her dad

Britney Spears's father spoke to Fox News on Thursday and said the problems faced by his daughter are "not about what other people think." Jamie Spears, who spoke to the press from his home in Louisiana, also said he and Spears's mom are "concerned about our daughter," who he described as "a sick little girl." "We're just trying to take care of her," he said. Spears's manager also spoke to the press today, but gave no details about his client other to confirm that she has returned to the Promises rehab facility in Malibu. Kevin Federline has disputed claims he called for an emergency custody hearing in LA, saying someone had contacted a Superior Court spokesperson and fabricated the story. Federline and his lawyer insist they never filed court papers requesting a hearing. "Kevin continues to be a very focused father with his children with hands-on management," said KFed's lawyer in a statement.

Britney's paparazzi freak-out

ETOnline has posted these pics of Britney Spears losing it with the paparazzi last night outside Kevin Federline's house (and who can blame her, really). Spears was likely hoping to see her two sons, who were holed up inside with their dad - who refused to answer the door to the popstar. Spears reportedly spent about 45 minutes outside the house before being picked up by her mom and eventually taken back to rehab.

Britney back in rehab (yes, again)

She did it again! Britney Spears checked back into rehab this morning, and the emergency custody hearing that Kevin Federline had scheduled for today has been canceled. Maybe there was a method to her madness after all, as insiders say the reason for Spears's abrupt departure from Promises yesterday was so she could respond to the news that Federline was planning to seek immediate full custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James. The word is that KFed has agreed not to involve the courts if Spears completes a full treatment program - but if the popstar leaves prematurely, Federline will once again apply for full custody. TMZ is reporting that Spears will complete between 30 and 45 days of inpatient treatment. According to paparazzi site x17, Spears and her assistant drove to Federline's San Fernando Valley house last night and despite buzzing three times on her ex's intercom, received no response. As Rosie O'Donnell pointed out on this morning's View, Spears gave birth to Jayden James only five months ago and maybe suffering from post-partum depression and/or psychosis. Let's hope she gets whatever help she needs.

KFed schedules emergency meeting in court

While his estranged wife Britney Spears was busy checking in and out of rehab, Kevin Federline has been taking steps to get custody of the couple's two children. KFed is due to appear in an LA court tomorrow for an emergency hearing, according to a Superior Court spokesperson, who said, "Our best information is he will be here, she won't. But anything is possible." The reason for the hearing has not been made public, but Federline's lawyer may convince the court that a custody hearing that would end the temporary joint custody granted at the beginning of February is urgently required. A rep for Federline says her client has no comment, but sources say the aspiring rapper called his mom last Wednesday and asked for help in looking after five-month-old Jayden James and 17-month-old Sean Preston. "He is beyond sad," says a friend of Federline. "This is the worst week of his entire life. He doesn't even want to pick up the phone. Things are beyond not well with Britney, and he still loves her." Spears's mom, Lynne is also helping to look after the kids. "Britney's family feels that Kevin has been a blessing and they are very impressed with Kevin taking so much responsibility," says a Spears family insider. "Britney's family found out from the news this morning that Britney had left rehab. Britney has not asked to see the kids because she knows she is not well and she does not want to scare [them]. She has no credit cards or cash. She is basically on the run at the moment." Calls to Spears's agent today were referred to her manager, who in turn referred them to the publicist at Spears's label, Jive Records, who left all inquiries unanswered.
