JT and Timbaland to help Britney?

Uber-producer Timbaland wants to help Britney Spears get her career back. "I feel her pain, it really bothers me," said Timbaland, who produced hit albums this year for Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado. "I'm the type of person who tries to save the world. I just want to take her away, go overseas, and work [things] out... I asked Justin, 'How would you feel about me working with Britney?' I had to ask him that. I said, 'Would you do it with me?'" JT, who dated Spears at the height of her career, agreed, according to Timbaland. A rep for the SexyBack singer referred all inquiries today to Timbaland's spokesperson, who has not yet commented.

JT to open third restaurant

Justin Timberlake is adding a new restaurant to his list of projects. The SexyBack singer already owns two hot eateries - Chi in Hollywood and Destino in NYC - and has plans for a second Manhattan haunt. Timberlake and his partner will cut the ribbon on Southern Hospitality on Second Avenue this April, with a menu inspired by the Southern flavor of the popstar's home state of Tennessee.

JT to host Kids' Choice Awards

Justin Timberlake has been announced as the host of this year's Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. "I'm revving up to have an even bigger blast than usual," Timberlake said of his new gig. "While honoring kids' opinions, it taps into the kid in all of us." Best picture nominees include Click, Night at the Museum, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Big Momma's House 2. In the race for favorite male movie star Jack Black, Johnny Depp, Adam Sandler and Will Smith, and for fav female star the noms are Halle Berry, Dakota Fanning, Keira Knightley and Sarah Jessica Parker. The show will take place on March 31 in LA.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are just having fun, according to a source close to Timberlake. Rumors of a romance between the two began earlier this month when Biel went backstage at the singer's San Diego concert and continued to surface when the Illusionist star flew to Park City to snowboard and hang out. "It's all about having fun," a source told People mag. "He's trying to have a good time... He is in no way looking to be in a relationship. He's single and happy." Biel is reported to be the source of a well-publicized spat between Timberlake and recent ex Cameron Diaz at Prince's Golden Globes afterparty, where Biel told Timberlake's mom, "He is sooo cute!" I can't say I disagree.

Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake reportedly had a heated run-in at a Golden Globes afterparty on Monday night. Diaz is said to have flown into a jealous rage when she spotted Timberlake chatting with Jessica Biel. The Illusionist actress stepped away while Diaz and Timerlake had a forty minute argument, after which Timberlake "slammed his fist into a cabinet," according to a witness. "If that's how she wants to get him back, it won't work," said an insider. "She's desperate." Meanwhile, the SexyBack singer is allegedly seeing Scarlett Johansson after Timberlake hand-picked the Scoop actress to star in his What Goes Around video. "They're just having fun," says a friend of the potential couple.

Behind the split

Signs of the split between Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz have been appearing for weeks, according to reports. The former couple hadn't been seen together since December 16, when they were spotted at the party for Timberlake's SNL hosting gig. Timberlake then spent Christmas with his family in Tennessee, while Diaz spent the holidays in Vail. "He called me around Christmas to say they had broken up," said a friend of the SexyBack singer. "I don't think she's so much into the scene like he is. He's really young and he likes to go out. [He] hasn't been into her for a while." At the opening show of Timberlake's new tour on Monday night, the singer told the crowd, "Sometimes love isn't so easy."

It's true! Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz confirmed their split today in a statement. "It has always been our preference not to comment on the status of our relationship, but, out of respect for the time we've spent together, we feel compelled to do so now, in light of recent speculation and the number of inaccurate stories that are being reported by the media," the statement reads. "We have, in fact, ended our romantic relationship, and have done so mutually and as friends, with continued love and respect for one another." The former couple began dating in 2003 after meeting at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

Justin confirms split

Justin Timberlake confirmed recent split from Cameron Diaz in an interview with a Canadian paper in support of his film Alpha Dog. Friends of the SexyBack singer claim that the nine-year age difference between the superstar couple caused the rift and when asked to confirm the news, Timberlake shrugged and said, "I can't talk about it right now... As much as I've learned, I am still a man so I have some kind of learning disability. And women wouldn't have us any other way." Timberlake was also asked about the underground success of his SNL "Dick in a Box" skit on the internet. "I think it's gone a little too far," he said. "I actually heard this morning that a female has done her own version of the video called My Box in a Box and I'm not exactly sure how I feel about that." Of his role in the upcoming Alpha Dog, JT says, "When I came onto this film all the other actors were probably not looking forward to having to deal with me, but I wasn't worried about it and I just showed up to work the same as everybody else. I just wanted to be a player in the film. If you go in with the right intentions then the outcome ends up okay... To me acting is a hobby. I've been lucky enough to have a musical career that has gone pretty good and acting is something I have always wanted to do."
