Hilary Duff pours her heart into her music - literally. The nineteen-year-old popstar used her breakup with Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden and his subsequent hookup Nicole Richie as fodder for the lyrics on her new album, taking obvious digs at The Simple Life star. "Where's your dignity?" reads a line in one song. "I think you lost it in the Hollywood Hills... Can't buy respect but you can pick up that bill... Always with Mr. Right, but then you have a fight/Run into your friend's ex, he's happy to be your next/Tomorrow's paper's coming out so kiss him fast, watch the cameras flash." In the song Gypsy Woman, Duff sings, "She lets you think that you found her first/That's how she works her sick and twisted gypsy curse/Talks with a grin 'cause she's got no shame/Enjoy the fame, bringing down the family name." Duff's rep confirmed that some of songs on her client's new album were written about Madden/Richie situation, saying, "Some are, yes. But she has gone through a lot, including a very frightening pair of Russian stalkers."

Hilary talks about her split from Joel
Hilary Duff talked about her split from Joel Madden when she stopped by Ryan Seacrest's radio show yesterday. "There was nothing - no fight, no 'He did this, I did this,'" Duff said. "It was just time for people to move on and do different things... I had a really great relationship with him, and we still have a great relationship, which is really good and unusual. He's a good person, and I always will care about him." Madden has moved on to date Nicole Richie, and Duff has also thrown her hat back in the dating ring. "I've never gotten to [date] before, so it's kind of exciting," the singer said. "I've always just had a boyfriend, you know? I'm young!"

Duff's stalker sentenced

Hilary Duff's stalker pleaded no contest to the charges against him and was sentenced to 117 days in jail. The 18-year-old Russian immigrant was also sentenced to probation until 2012 after his arrest two months ago. Duff complained to police that she and her family had been receiving threatening phone calls and the stalker was apprehended after he told the star's security officials that he had plans to harm her at an upcoming event.
