Whether you're a full blooded American or have migrated to the United States, anyone can be as patriotic as the next. But there is a time to show your stars and stripes. That time would be the Olympics, only if you are an athlete running with the American flag as your "Superman" cape. I do not want to hear the protests that it's the Fourth of July and it is acceptable to wear such attire.
I will admit, since it is the July fourth weekend, a striped top or star tank is totally fine, but mixing the two, keep that combination at home with the blinds closed! Even a nice pair of faded striped shorts or a star-print skirt is majorly cute. To be true to all-American style and pay homage to the timelessness of the American flag, chop up the colors instead of focusing on the pattern. Try using offbeat shades of red, white, and blue. They do not have to be the common saturated colored combos.
Nothing looks better than a good old-fashioned white tank, tailored red shorts, a blue bead necklace and bright blue tote. Finish the look off with silver, white, or nude sandals or espadrilles. Feel free to switch up the combinations, i.e. bright blue pleated skirt, white blouse, and a dusty red bolero. See? So much better than a silly firework t-shirt!
