Singer Ashanti has spoken to media about the death of her cousin in South Africa this past weekend. The family member was en route to Ashanti's hotel to pick something up for her before a show when the fatal car accident took place. "I cannot believe this happened to my cousin, and it is hard for me to grasp the reality that she is gone from me and my family and friends," the grieving Grammy winner told a NY paper. According to police, a 17-year-old was arrested and charged with drunk driving after rear-ending the car Ashanti's cousin was a passenger in, causing her to be flung from the car and thrown into oncoming traffic.
