John Fitzgerald Kennedy
Franklin Delano Roosevelt
William Jefferson Clinton
Lyndon Baines Johnson
Ronald Wilson Reagan
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Richard Millhouse Nixon
George Herbert Walker Bush, Sr. & Jr.
Barack Hussein Obama
What's in a name? Apparently a lot of shame and embarrassment judging from the fallout over the use of Barack Obama's middle name by an MC at a John McCain rally recently. I find it very telling and even a bit laughable how there is all of this hand-wringing over the use of his middle name, but absolutely no outcry over the use of other famous people's middle names like the ones listed above. That couldn't possibly be because these other middle names are not near as problematic to some as the obviously Muslim name Hussein, could it? Maybe, just maybe, even though they would never admit it, Obama and his supporters are actually ashamed and embarrassed by the name.
Some are saying "he can't help the name his parents gave him," and that's true. It's no big deal, it's just a name. Now, my question is, if having a middle name of Hussein is no problem, just like the names Wilson, Jefferson, Rodham, Delano, etc. are no big deal as Obama's supporters claim, then why are they making such a big deal over it's use? No one ever automatically assumes there is any malice of forethought or vitriol involved when people use Ronald Wilson Reagan, Hillary Rodham Clinton, etc. Yet, let one person at a campaign stop or on a radio talk show dare utter the the name Barack Hussein Obama and they are automatically labeled a hate-monger and an anti-Islamic bigot.
Here's the real deal. Hussein IS Obama's middle name and its use as such IS okay. Its proper use as such IS NOT racist or bigoted in anyway and only a racist bigot would would make it out to be that. However, it must also be acknowledged that the name Hussein IS a Muslim name, and the fact that it is, is problematic for some people in a post 9/11 world. That doesn't automatically mean Obama is a practicing Muslim or a Muslim extremist sympathizer either. Nor does it automatically mean that those who have a problem with the name Hussein are hate-filled racist bigots. Might some use his name and place particular emphasis on Hussein as a means of calling attention to it, sure. And those people need to search deep within themselves and very closely examine their motives.
What all of this does mean is that in light of of the murderous actions of Saddam Hussein and other terrorists and despots with Muslim names, many Americans feel that America is not ready for a president with a Muslim name. There is nothing wrong with that at all. There is also nothing wrong with calling the candidate by his given name, Barack Hussein Obama.

Interesting story...(newspaper article from many years ago)
From a supermarket parking lot in Arkansas comes the story of a woman who had to be rescued from her locked car by paramedics. A customer had seen the woman sitting with her eyes closed and her hands behind her head. When asked if she was okay, the woman weakly answered "I've been shot in the head and I'm holding my brains in." When paramedics arrived they broke in and carefully began to remove the woman. They found that she had biscuit dough on the back of her head and in her hands. Apparently, in the heat of the car, a can of biscuits exploded with a "bang!" and hit the woman in the back of the head. When she grabbed the back of her head and felt the dough, she passed out from fear, thinking it was her brains. As she came to, she kept her hands on the back of her head, using all of her concentration to hold in her "brains" until the paramedics arrived.
we are all more like this woman than we even realize. She was so afraid that what may have, might have, could have happened, that she was afraid to move. We sit paralyzed with fear. What if? What if? What if? In this woman's case, what if my brains are falling out? In Matthew 25 Jesus tells of a man who was afraid. He went out and buried a talent in the ground because he was afraid of what might happen if he did not. The master was not pleased. Neither is Jesus pleased with us when we become stagnant out of fear. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7)

The Conservative choice?
As much as it pains me to have to say it, after giving it much careful thought and consideration, I have decided that I will be supporting Mike Huckabee in the March 4 primary election. Why, you ask? Because the Republican elite establishment tells me I should support John McCain. McCain, while stellar in his views on the war, is not even within driving distance of being a Conservative on any of his other views.
Let me be abundantly clear, I do not support Huckabee's anti-war, anti-Bush rhetoric, his softness on crime, or his open borders immigration philosophy. However, McCain's views on these topics are just as bad, if not worse. Where Huckabee gets a slight edge with me is in his views on abortion, marriage, and the appointment of Supreme Court judges. My preference was, is, and always will be to have a candidate who is real, true Conservative, not someone who pays lip service to Conservatism.
What it ultimately comes down to me for me is, a choice between the lesser of 2 evils. Huckabee is by far the lesser evil of the two.

Had enough?
Driving through Plano, TX the other day I noticed a huge yard sign in the front yard of a home that read "Had enough? Vote Democratic." This sign just screams out for clarification and I am just the guy for the job. So, I will now from a Conservative perspective, explain what the sign is REALLY saying.
Have you had enough of your God-given Constitutional rights being defended and protected? If so, then by all means vote Democrat. Have you had enough of our nation's sovereignty and security being defended and protected both at home and abroad? If so, then by all means vote Democrat. Have you had enough of relatively low taxes and a slowly but steadily improving economy? If so, vote Democrat and watch it all change drastically for the worse right before your very eyes. Have you had enough of all the things that have made America the greatest nation on the planet? If so, then vote Democrat and do your part to help America become a mere shadow and a sick caricature of her former self.
Personally, I have had enough. I've had enough of political correctness. I've had enough of logic and common sense being tossed aside in favor of "tolerance", "diversity", and other liberal buzz words. I've had enough of the liberal media only reporting one side of the story in order to prop up their political agenda. I've had enough of liberals and liberalism period. I've had enough of the legal cold-blooded murder of the innocent unborn. I've had enough of the legitimization of the gay lifestyle.
I've had enough of the liberal left's hatred and disdain of Christianity and Christians. I've had more than enough of illegal immigration and porous borders. I've had enough of the wrong-headed idea that John McCain and Mike Huckabee are the best choices for Conservatives. I have had more than enough of the misguided notion that the best and only way to fix what is perceived to be wrong with America is to elect the likes of Hitlery Clinton and Barack Osama.
I've had enough alright! That's why I always have and always will vote Conservative!!

Good cop, bad cop. Bad, bad cop.
There have been some very unsettling, even disturbing stories in the news recently regarding law enforcement officials. I'm sure just about everyone has seen by now the horrific news footage of the paraplegic man being dumped out of his wheelchair by a Florida sheriff's deputy while another deputy looked on and laughed about it. Both of these men, and use that term reluctantly, should not only be terminated, but also be stripped of their peace officer certifications. Instead of asking for people's licenses and registration, they need to be asking "would you like fries with that?"
Equally as disturbing is the story of the female assault victim who was strip searched by a group of male deputies and left naked in a jail cell for 6 hours. Remember, she was the victim, not the suspect. These so-called officers are a disgrace to the badge, their department, even their entire profession. Now comes the story of the Nevada deputy who is seen on camera standing in front of a female subject as the film goes still. When the film starts moving again, the subject is lying in a pool of her own blood after having been beaten to a pulp by an idiot who calls himself a cop. he has been fired.
I have been, am, and always will be an ardent supporter of and have the utmost respect for police officers and the law enforcement profession. That's why I will always stick up for the good cops who always seem to have their names and reputations sullied by the actions of the bad ones. I will not allow them to all be lumped together and disrespected. That being said, I will always be the first to point out the actions and misdeeds of the bad cops who cause many to lose respect for the entire profession. Let me be abundantly clear; the good cops deserve to be respected and the bad ones so richly deserve our disrespect. Let's not blur the lines and confuse the two. Remember, it's only the outrageous misdeeds of the bad cops that make the news. When things go right, we rarely here about them. Only when things go wrong does it lead.
I have the utmost respect for the law enforcement officers who execute their duties fairly and with respect and concern for the citizens they vow to serve and protect. I have the utmost disrespect for the ones who sully their profession by their misdeeds and give their fellow officers an undeserved bad reputation. Let's rally around and show our support for the good cops, and root out the bad ones.

I haven't left the Republican party, it has left me.
Well, I guess it was bound to happen. It seems like very few years, every 2 or 3 election cycles American voters take leave of their senses and elect the wrong standard bearer for their political party and for their nation. It appears that Republican party primary voters have once again drunk the kool-aid off stupidity in voting for John McCain.
It looks like the 4 term Arizona senator now has a lock on his party's nomination. And now that the only true Conservative left in the race, Mitt Romney, has bowed out that just leaves front-runner McCain, distant second Huckabee, and the psycho nut job Ron Paul as the Republican candidates. I'm not sure we could have done much worse. Is it possible to scrape below the bottom of the barrel?? I think someone has figured out how to do that.
I will stipulate that I have the utmost respect and admiration for Senator McCain's military service and the time he spent as a POW in Vietnam. He is stellar in his views on the war except for his objection to interrogation tactics that some call torture. Lets not forget that he co-authored McCain-Feingold, a fine piece of legislation that rapes American citizens of their God-given Constitutional right of free speech during elections. Let's also not forget that he also co-authored along with Ted "Chappaquiddick" Kennedy, the McCain-Kennedy Bill that would have granted amnesty to over 20 million criminal immigrant invaders. So, yes, McCain will make a fine President if you want open borders and opposing voices silenced. Personally, that is not the kind of America I want to live in.
Many say "sure, McCain has his flaws, but he's a good deal better than Clinton or Obama". Is he really now?? Let's see, he has never been a friend or supporter of Conservative Christians. In fact, he has gone out of his way on many occasions to condemn and ridicule us and our beliefs. Sounds and awful lot like some Democrat candidates I know. He is all for amnesty and the so-called "guest worker" program. He is all for giving taxpayer funded government benefits to people who broke our laws to get here. Sounds again an awful lot like a liberal. In far too many respects other than the war, there is little to no difference between McCain, Clinton, and Obama.
Now, you may say something like "well, McCain is a moderate". And that's supposed to comfort me how just exactly? Allow me to define a moderate to you in terms of political office. A moderate is someone who either stands for nothing, or at best is unsure what he/she stands for. It is very fluid and ever changing. The problem with this is what, you ask? Simple, those are not traits of a leader. A true leader knows what he stands for and stands for it boldly and proudly whether it is popular or not. It was once said "you must stand for something, or you will surely fall for anything". What we need is a leader, not a figurehead. More importantly, we need a leader who will lead us in the right direction and not towards amnesty and other policies detrimental not only to our quality of life, but to our national sovereignty and security.
I excoriated James Dobson a couple of months back for calling for a third party. Well, that sound you hear now is me eating at least some of my words. The Republican party has abandoned principled Conservatism in favor of mushy, middle of the road, watered down Liberalism slickly packaged in a way that somehow appeals to those who aren't paying close enough attention. It has abandoned excellence in favor of mediocrity. It has abandoned common sense in favor of political correctness and expediency. That will be it's undoing too. We are I'm afraid witnessing the demise of the Grand Old Party, and the formation in it's place of a party that is a mere shadow of it's former self.
What America needs is to see the rise out of the ashes of what once was, a new, principled, true, steadfast, unwaivering Conservative party. A party who has leaders who will emulate the greatness of Reagan. Leaders who will stand on principle, not politics. Leaders who will love, support, and promote liberty and freedom, not tolerance and political correctness. Leaders who will do whatever it takes to defend our national security, secure our borders, and lower our taxes whether the Cindy Sheehan's of the world and others like it or not. Surely there has to be at least one of these leaders left on the planet somewhere. I know this much, John McCain is not it. And neither is Mike Huckabee.
